President of india is known as the head of state and first citizen of India.He possess all executive powers of India.President is elected by a electoral college include elected members of state assembly and parliament through single transfer voting system and propational representation.

The first president of india, Rajendra Prasad, who decorated longest term in the office of president and was the only president to serve for two terms in office.

Dr.Rajendra Prasad who secured highest votes in presidential election in 1957 .He got 99.35 % votes and his rival candidate N.N Das who secured lowest votes ( 0.4%) in presidential election.

V.V Giri who secured lowest majority ( 50.22%) among elected presidents.

Dr. Zakir Hussain was the first president from muslim community.

V.V Giri is the first acting president of India.(1969)

Giri is the only person to have served as both an acting president and president of India.

Muhammad Hidayatullah ,then chief justice of India, who became acting president of India and this was the only occasion chief justice of India took over the office of president.He also took position of office of vice president after office of president.

Zakir Hussain and Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed died while their term of office.

Dr Rajendra Prasad, Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed, Neelam Sanjiva Reddy, Giani Zail Singh,A. P. J. Abdul Kalam and Pratibha Patil took over office of president without carry office of vice president.

Neelam Sanjiva Reddy, he is the only President of india who functioned position of chief minister ( Andhra Pradesh), Member of Parliament and Speaker of Lok Sabha and he is the youngest president of India among presidents of india.

Only N.Sanjeeva Reddy is elected without rival candidate in 1977and he is the only Indian president who failed in presidential election( in 1969 against V.V Giri).
